He was a former Brazilian Karting Champion as a youth, and has continued to achieve success both on and off the racetrack. He was also a front runner and winner in the Builder Dodge Formula. Scotton began racing Kart 125 cc, and finished most of the races in the top five’s.1987. Super Kart “V” Class B, Vice-Champion.1988. Com Sports Car Club. It was a very good year.1989. Debut in Skip Barber Racing School. Scotton was the quickest formula driver after only 3-day of instruction. Ran four races that season with the best finish of 3rd. 1990. Pole Sitter and Finished 2nd at Sebring track.1992. On to the SCCA Endurance Series, in 12 races scored three 3rd and six 2nd. Not bad!!1994. Was the first time running the full season in Skip Barber Formula1600 series. In 16 races he scored 5 top five, 12 top ten finishes and one DNF. The best result was a close second at Watkins Glen.1995. Ran in the North East Skip Barber F2000 Series, with good results, 10 top five and 6 top ten finishes, plus the two fastest laps and five most improved driver awards.1996. Was a very good season. Winning 6 out 16 and three 2nd places finishes. Adrenaline running high Scotton was getting a good taste of what is to come.1997. Finished second in the Northeast F2000 Race Series by one point. With already 7 wins under his belt, most wins by a driver, 4 times in 2nd place and 3 times in 3rd, he was invited to the big Scholarship with a chance to win $75,000 prize money.1998. Back to Formula 200 Southern Race Series. Out of 12 races, Scotton due to still recovering from his dilemma could only make it to 6 races placing 2nd in four of the 6. Scotton was back!!1999. Scotton formed his own team and entered the Motorola Cup stock car industry. Allowing nothing to hold him back, they are off to a good start!!! 2000. Scotton could only make it to 9 races, finishing the Brasilia cup 6 place, Scotton Wins the most Improved Driver Award. 2001. Scotton racing in the Moroso 24 Hours finished first place With the fresh Moroso victory Scotton was invited to Race the Rolex 24 Hours. American Le Mans Series for the year 2002.2002. Scotton makes a splash at upscale at the Miami Grand Prix.2004. Roger Scotton finishing the Miami Grand Prix with power stirring problem. Was a good experiences drive the Daytona Prototype. the SCCA ProCup by nine 1st place two 2nd places.
